Hi, I haven’t used SSD before but now I am thinking to buy one. Currently I have SATA2 3 GB/s, Samsung 500 GB hard drive. I want to upgrade it to SSD. I really don’t know how to set up that. I want my SSD for OS and some applications while HDD for games, videos and audios but it is necessary to select a best quality SSD before purchasing it. I need to know that how to setup SSD and HD combo since I have heard that SSD is good for better speed and performance.
As SSD is a latest technology, so nowadays you can get a lot of varieties from the market. However, according to the opinion of different users, Samsung 840 is quite good and having pretty price as compared to others. However, WD black version is also good but it is a little pricey. According to other users, they have been using Intel, Crucial and Micron SSDs from many years and still they didn’t find any issue. Besides that Corsair, SanDisk, aData, and Kingston are also considered as decent SSDs.
However, try to purchase a product which is best in performance as well as price. Anyway, you need to arrange SSD with minimum of 120 GB capacity; since, it will be adequate for your operating system as well as softwares.
