How to recover deleted files on an external hard drive?

I unintentionally, deleted about 50 pictures from external hard drive. I also deleted them from the recycle bin. I still know the files names but, how to recover deleted files on an external hard drive?

It’s a good habit to delete your recycle bin files after a week or two, because you may need the deleted files any time and you can easily restore from the recycle bin.

However you can follow the following instructions to recover your files.

1. First of all you have to see in the recycle bin and remember how you deleted the files. Did you delete with Del button or Shift + Del. If you deleted with simple Del then go to recycle bin and right click on the file you want to restore. If you deleted with Shift + Del then the above method will not work. But still your files didn’t delete.

2. If you are using windows 7, it allows you to recover your files and folders through this procedure.

Press Start button
Select Control Panel
Hit System Maintenance
Now, Backup and Restore.
Click restore my files and follows the instructions there.
